We applied two coats of a water-based polyurethane in a satin finish, which enhances the natural warm tone of the birch while providing excellent resistance to moisture, glue, and the general abuse a craft table endures. Water-based polyurethane dries quickly, has minimal odor compared to oil-based options, and cleans up with soap and water, making it the practical choice for indoor furniture projects.
